History

 

2006
After a construction period of four months, an new
tippable 6-tonne rotary kiln is put into service, along with a new cooling plant, a dust extraction system and a pig conveyor.
The era of smelting scrap in crucible furnaces comes to an end after 33 years.

2011
We are granted a permit for operating an intermediate waste storage facility for lead-acid batteries.
The batteries we take in are used in a recycling plant for the supply of feedstock materials.
It is operated independently of other recycling plants.

2014
The Nonferrous Metals Trading division commenced operation on April 1, 2014 in our new metals building on the F. W. Hempel Group site. Since then we have been receiving, sorting and processing nonferrous metals for environmentally sound recycling with a plant area of 1,600 square meters. We have many years of experience in the scrap metal business for copper, brass and aluminum.

2015
Completion of the Werk II smelting and warehouse buildings in Oberhausen, with 1,100 square meters for the new furnace facility and 1,150 square meters for the new warehouse.
Modern crucible induction furnaces have been installed in the new Werk II complex to enhance and expand our range of materials.
Energy efficiency, environmental protection and working conditions have the highest priority.
